چکیده

The aim of the project COUPLET (supported by Institut Farman) is to study the electrothermal effects of the degradation of the metallisation layer of power semiconductor dies. In this first technical report of the project, we describe our work of modeling and simulation of the behavior of a power transistor. The die is represented by four elementary transistors driven by a distributed gate signal. A simplified electrical model is used to simulate the transistor behavior at turn-off. The thermal model is realized by finite elements methods and allows to estimate the maximum temperature on each elementary transistor. By coupling the thermal model with the electric simulation, it is possible to take into account silicon and metallisation heating in the electrical model.

Fully Coupled Electrothermal Mixed-Mode Device Simulation of SiGe HBT Circuits

It is well known that for the design and simulation of state-of-the-art circuits thermal effects like self-heating and coupling between individual devices must be taken into account. As compact models for modern or experimental devices are not readily available, a mixed-mode device simulator capable of thermal simulation is a valuable source of information. Considering self-heating and coupling...

A hypothesis of couplet molecules and couplet cells in gastric function and an association with Helicobacter pylori

BACKGROUND Gastrin, from G-cells, and histamine, from enterochromaffin-like (ECL) cells, are two of the hormones that regulate gastric activity. DISCUSSION It is proposed that the G-cells and the ECL cells are coupled by the couplet molecules gastrin and histamine and by a prior asymmetrical cell division. The gastrin (from G-cells) stimulates the ECL cells to produce and secrete histamine wh...

Nanoscale electrothermal co-simulation: compact dynamic models of hyperbolic heat transport and self-consistent device Monte Carlo

Two problems in the self-consistent, electrothermal co-simulation of nanoscale devices, are discussed. It is shown that the construction of dynamic compact thermal models for nanoscale devices, based on solution of the hyperbolic (wavelike) heat transport equation, can follow essentially the same approach as the authors’ analytical thermal impedance matrix method for the parabolic (diffusive) e...
